| If you are interested in adopting... You will be required to fill out an adoption questionnaire and be approved before adoption can take place. The applications are based on a scale of 1-10. If you score a 5 or below, the application is denied and if you receive a 6 -10, you are approved. This may take up to 3 business days. This is for the safety of our animals! THINK BEFORE YOU ADOPT! Are you acting in the animal’s best interest? Can you give this animal a stable home for 10-20 years? Do you have time for a new family member, are you home enough? Can you train a new dog/puppy and apply obedience? Can you afford the vet bills? If you rent, can you honestly say you will never move to a place that does not allow pets? **These animals have already been through enough in their lives and we reserve the right to decline your application if we feel you cannot meet our criteria for adoption!** When adopting a pet from Fayette Friends of Animals, or any other shelter, please remember: These animals are most often strays rescued off the streets or come to us with no previous vet care. While we try our best, we cannot and do not make any guarantee as to the age, breed, health, temperament, or future size of the animal. We do not have the funds to fully vet your new friend. You are helping to rescue this animal and get it to its full health and happiness. Please be aware, you will be required to take your new pet to the vet within two weeks of adoption. This vet visit will cost anywhere from $50 to $250! Please anticipate this cost in adopting a new friend! They may need further worming, further vaccinations, incision care, heart worm testing, flea treatment, antibiotics, or other care.
